Sky Wars takes place on the 4th Saturday in September in Innsbrook, Missouri. Volunteer opportunities typically become available in the summer months leading up to our event.
Volunteers receive free event admission and parking, a volunteer t-shirt, and a meal during their shift. Volunteers must be age 14 or older.

Sky Wars is the nation’s largest fireworks championship and one of the only pyrotechnic competitions in the U.S.
As the United States Fireworks Championship, Sky Wars features invitation-only pyrotechnicians selected from the nation‘s top fireworks choreographers. These highly skilled teams will compete to create award-winning pyromusicals, full-scale “concerts in the sky” that fuse the artistry of music with the power of pyrotechnics.
This fiery event is held is hailed as a must-see experience for all ages. Held annually within an hour of St. Louis, Sky Wars is an evening-long event where high-level pyrotechnic artistry is showcased on a grand scale. Our audience witnesses large-caliber fireworks, enormous fireballs, a drone show, mass launches, and unique aerial effects that are rarely seen at other public events in America.
Sky Wars takes place annually on the fourth Saturday in September in Innsbrook, Missouri. It is presented by the Missouri Pyrotechnics Association (MOpyro.org).
