What to expect at Sky Wars
The U.S. Fireworks Championship
Sky Wars is the nation’s largest fireworks championship and one of the only pyrotechnic competitions in the U.S.
As the United States Fireworks Championship, Sky Wars features invitation-only pyrotechnicians selected from the nation‘s top fireworks choreographers. These highly skilled teams will compete to create award-winning pyromusicals, full-scale “concerts in the sky” that fuse the artistry of music with the power of pyrotechnics.
This fiery event is held is hailed as a must-see experience for all ages. Held annually within an hour of St. Louis, Sky Wars is an evening-long event where high-level pyrotechnic artistry is showcased on a grand scale. Our audience witnesses large-caliber fireworks, enormous fireballs, a drone show, mass launches, and unique aerial effects that are rarely seen at other public events in America.
Sky Wars takes place annually on the fourth Saturday in September in Innsbrook, Missouri. It is presented by the Missouri Pyrotechnics Association (MOpyro.org).

GETTING TO SKY WARS
Sky Wars offers free & reserved parking! We recommend ticket-holders get to site by 5pm to claim your seating area.
Please note that the Innsbrook field is a unique venue, and there will be high traffic when entering and exiting the event. If you have your tickets, visit the Plan Your Trip page to get directions and prepare for your arrival and departure. Visit our FAQ for what to bring and not bring.

Sky Wars will happen regardless of rain. If severe weather prevents the performance, the show will take place the next evening at 7:30 p.m. (The unusually severe weather in 2024 was our first exception in 19 years.)
