THE FULL CREW

Aaron Mayfield

Meet the Makers
Aaron’s life and love story are matches made in heaven. He discovered fireworks at the age of three, met his wife – a leading female fireworks shell creator – on eharmony, and is one of the last firework manufacturers left in the U.S. Quite an interesting fella!

Aaron‘s Story
Aaron fell in love with fireworks when he was just a toddler. As he grew older, he literally saved his pennies to purchase fireworks that he choreographed by color on his bedroom floor before he shot them in the sky.

Today he is the owner of AM Pyrotechnics (www.ampyro.com), a company he founded in 1995 that started manufacturing fireworks in 2008. AM Pyrotechnics manufactures 1.3g professional display fireworks that he distributes throughout the U.S. According to Aaron, there are less than 10 manufacturers left in America with maybe three of four that manufacture large quantities like his company does.

Aaron’s Favorite Fireworks Memory
Aaron attended the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) convention in 2001, and he remembers seeing displays that he thought he would never be able to create. Fast forward to 2004 when he designed his own PGI display from start to finish. He admits he was nervous, so much so that he bought a $15 ticket to sit with the masses when his show was shot. He ended up winning the “Most Artistic Display” category for the entire convention, and representatives had to find him in the crowd to present his award.

Aaron‘s 2022 Show
Aaron shared that he will choreograph his entire show in only three days…but that’s after spending months to select the perfect music. He admits to creating hundreds of shows per year, but with Sky Wars it “is very rare to do this type of show.” Aaron said his pyromusical – which will not overpower the audience with quantity – will include fireworks totally manufactured by his Missouri-based company.

Aaron’s #1 Fireworks Signature Move
Aaron confessed he has never attended Sky Wars since the Fall is a busy time for his business. He looks forward to sharing his made in Missouri product, which offers the most vibrant colors with the longest duration of time spent in the sky. He and his wife Amber, who assembles hundreds of fireworks each week, are ready to astound and amaze the Sky Wars audience.
